Product Overview
Description
Reminiscent of the antique map displayed in German geographer and scholar Johann Hubner’s Conversations: Lexicon, de Religionen, 1777, our Antique Map I Tapestry captures all the mystery and beauty of the work of early cartographers. This intricate map features the intrigue of the sea with two large globes surrounded by elements of the water. Other smaller depictions in the four corners and upper and lower middle include a spouting whale, swimming school of dolphins, two ships with their voyages underway, and King Poseidon wielding his golden triton. The colors used to weave this tapestry are earthy in green, burgundy, gold, and blue. This antique map tapestry with border makes a studious addition to the office or study. Woven in Italy, the tapestry is made from cotton, viscose and polyester for softness and subtle sheen. Lined back and tunneled top for ease of installation.
