Product Overview
Description
Heraldic Lion is a French jacquard wall tapestry based on the original tapestry woven circa 1890 by William Morris (1836-1896), famous British artist and designer. This design was part a set of 6 tapestries called The Holy Grail series. This scene symbolizes the Quest for the Unicorn by King Arthur's legendary twenty-four knights. The Lion represents the most courageous knights. Above the Lion it states, "Of those knights that thus departed these are the chiefest , sir Gawain of Orkney, Sir Lancelot, Sir Hector DeMarys, Sir Bors, Sir Percival, Sir Galahad."
