Product Overview
Description
Wawel Forest left is a Belgian impressionist tapestry cushion cover piece inspired by; "An otter with a fish in its mouth", created Jan van Tieghem's workshop, circa 1555. The series is known as; The Jagiellonian Tapestries or the Wawel Arrasses. The Wawel Arrasses originally consisted of 365 pieces assembled by the Jagiellons to decorate the interiors of the royal residence Wawel Castle.
Wawel Forest left depicts an image of a serene lake with an elegant swan surrounded in lush verdure imagery. Wawel Forest left is jacquard woven, the backed lining is of a plush velvet with an invisible zipper closure that allows easy placement and removal of cushion inserts.
