William Embarks, French impressionist jacquard woven tapestry wall hanging depicts events leading up to the Battle of Hastings (1066) when Duke William of Normandy was victorious over King Harold of Saxony, England. Here, Duke William embarks from France. Part of Bayeux, this jacquard wall tapestry is an extract of the queen Mathilde's tapestry.
